Privacy
Short version: no accounts, no cookies, no ads, and nothing that identifies you.
What stays on your device
Your results, streak and archive are saved in your browser’s local storage under the name hunch.v1. They never leave your device, and we can’t see them. Clearing your browser’s site data deletes them.
What we count
We use Umami, a cookieless analytics service, to see whether the game works for people. It counts page visits and a few game events. It doesn’t set cookies, store your IP address or build a profile of you.
| Event | What it records |
|---|---|
| Lock in | Puzzle number, score, current streak, whether you dragged, tapped or used keys, and how many days since you first played |
| Share | Puzzle number and score |
| Buttons | That you opened “About these values” or switched the result view |
Umami also records the usual page-visit details: page, referring site, country, browser, device type and screen size. Visit data is kept for six months.
What we don’t do
- No sign-up, names, emails or passwords.
- No advertising or tracking cookies, and nothing sold or shared with advertisers.
- Fonts and game files are served from this site, so your browser doesn’t contact other font or code services.
Who runs it
Hunch is an independent project run from the UK and is currently in a free test. Questions or requests: hello@todayshunch.com.
